Mark S. Rivera, MPH, CHTS-IM, principal and founder of MCC has been a health care business specialist since 1974 when he began employment with the largest group model HMO in the United States; Kaiser Permanente.
Over the years, Mr. Rivera held executive positions with other organizations such as CalOPTIMA, Adventist Health, John Hancock, Hoag Hospital, and Capp Care . It is this unique blend and early immersion in private managed care enterprises and public health agencies that laid the groundwork for his future success with leading local and national healthcare organizations.
In 1996 Mr. Rivera founded Managed Care Consulting, Inc. (MCC). Through this firm, he brings seasoned professionals to a variety of clientele. His firm has engaged on a variety of small to large-scale healthcare projects including planning, analysis and research both nationally and internationally with such organizations as the Molina Healthplan, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and the State Independent Living Council (SILC).
As a national speaker and consultant, Mr. Rivera specializes in business development, performance improvement and advanced analytics with a strategic focus.
